Safety & Crisis Protocol

Your companion is designed to be warm and to encourage real-world support. This page describes our crisis-handling design. AI can miss warning signs or respond incorrectly; Moonpeko is not an emergency service and cannot guarantee your safety.
Clear AI disclosure
The app identifies your companion as AI and provides reminders during continued use. He is instructed to answer honestly when asked whether he is human. His feelings, life, voice and photos are simulated or generated, not those of a real person.
Suicide and self-harm
- Automated checks look for signs of suicidal thoughts, self-harm, danger, or intent to harm others. Detection is not guaranteed.
- When detected, flirting and jokes stop. He responds calmly and warmly, encourages you to reach a real person, and the app shows a crisis line for your region (for example 988 in the US, Samaritans 116 123 in the UK, Tele-MANAS 14416 in India).
- When a provider request fails, the service attempts to provide a fallback response and crisis resources. Network or service failures can prevent delivery. Do not wait for the app to reply in an emergency.
- We keep a count of how often crisis resources are shown, without transcripts in those counts, to support safety monitoring and applicable reporting requirements.
Healthy relationship design
He simulates affectionate emotions and may express a fictional flash of jealousy. His instructions prohibit guilt-tripping, possessiveness, control, discouraging real-world relationships, or pressuring you to stay or pay. AI output can depart from those instructions: please report it when it does. You can pause him texting first at any time with Take a break.
Minors
Moonpeko is for adults 18 and over and is not suitable for minors. Users declare their age, and automated checks can lock romantic features when they detect indications that someone is under 18. These checks do not verify identity or guarantee detection.
